Jogini Waterfalls

Jogini Waterfalls This is one of the most popular waterfalls in Manali and recommended the place in Himachal Pradesh. It is situated near Vashisth village in Himachal Pradesh. One can reach the waterfall by trekking from Vashisth temple. While trekking the route passes through the temple, apple orchids, tall pine trees, and small water streams. You will also find a few restaurants and guest house on the way. The waterfalls by the stream and merged into the Beas river in the downstream. While walking you can also see the Beas river and the snow peaks of Rohtang.

The waterfall is 3 Km away from the main market of Manali. It has a Jogini Mata Temple at the base of the waterfall. There is also a small pool at the base and the visitors can spend some time by taking a plunge in the water. However, the water flow is heavy in monsoons and thus are restricted for any adventure activity.

Enjoy the walk and scenic beauty of nature while heading towards the waterfall. It will take 1 hour to reach the base of the waterfall and another 15 min to reach the top point of the waterfall. Thus, it will take 3 hours to complete the trek from Vashisth temple.

Jana Waterfalls

Jana Waterfalls This is another best waterfalls in Manali. It is situated in the small village named Jana, a few kilometers away from Naggar in Manali. The stunning beauty of this waterfall makes people forget everything and live like never before. To enjoy the beauty of the waterfall you will have to go on a small trek. After completing the trek, you can adore the beauty from the top of the waterfall as Jana falls is surrounded by deodar trees, pine trees, apple orchids, snow mountains.

The road heading towards Jana waterfall is incredibly beautiful. One has to trek for 10-15 min after from the nearest road point. The first sight of the waterfall is not visible but later the water gushes down from a cluster of rocks to a wooden bridge. The view is so mesmerizing that it refreshes all senses. One can enjoy the refreshing bath and leisure swim in the pool.

The best time to visit the place is from September till June, however, one can enjoy in Monsoon too during the heavy fall of water. This is also one of the best picnic spots In Manali. The visitors can also enjoy the local food at this place.

Hadimba Devi temple

Hadimba Devi temple Also known as Dhungri temple, is one of the most central attractions in Manali. The temple has been named on the surrounding forest area. It is dedicated to Goddess Hadimba wife of Bheem, one of the five Pandava in Mahabharat. Hadimba and Bheem married each other and have a son named Ghatotkachh. After the son became a warrior, Hadimba moved down in the inner hills of Manali for Meditation.

While meditating she gained the supernatural powers and became quite famous among the locals. Thus, locals erected a ‘Pagoda’ Style temple and dedicated it to her. The temple was constructed long way back in 1553. The top roof is covered with metals, while the other three-floor square shape roof is covered with timber tiles. The doors are made of wood while the walls are decorated with stone and mud impressions figuring the goddess, animals, etc. The temple does not have an idol of the goddess perhaps the footprint of her.

Vashisth Temple

Vashisth Temple The temple is located 6 km from Manali at the banks of the Beas River. It’s a half an hour walk from Manali. Most foreign tourists preferred to stay at Old Manali and is crowded with tourists at its peak season. The temple is believed to be more than 4000 years and the village is protected by is landscapes. It is built in the traditional style with intricate wood carvings. Along with Vashisth temple, there is another lord Rama temple and the Vashisth village is considered as an important place by Hindus in India.

The place is famous for hot water spring and the Vashisth temple is built just next to the springs. The hot water springs are believed to have some medicinal value it can cure many skin disease and other infections. This hot water is used to take bath and enjoy the warmth of the place. There is two different bath for men and women, fitted with showers.

The streams rise from the base of the mountain. One can walked to the Beas River from the main road through a small steep footpath. The road is ideally perfect. The village has the calm and peaceful effect with the old traditional house making style. At one corner is the German bakery and the other is traditional houses with cows.

Van Vihar National Park

At Himachal Emporium you can find shawls, and pashminas, decorative item for home, toys for kids etc. and is located on the mall road. Manu bazaar is located off the mall road.
