Naggar Castle Naggar Manali
Naggar was a little princely town that had been home to the kings and queens of the Kullu kingdom for more than 1400 years. With time, the stone castle stood abandoned, and in 1905, it survived a deadly earthquake. Eventually, Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation took over the remains in 1978 and converted it into a rest house initially and then into a heritage hotel. The balcony of the castle overlooks the valley covered with endless canopies of Deodar trees. Standing on that balcony, you see the stunning views of the mountains acting as a lofty wall, and the river Beas winding its way through the valley. Naggar still reflects the royalty that allured the kings to reside there so many years back.
