Kheerganga Trek: An Unforgettable Escapade

Tuesday, July 7, 2020

Mountains and trekking have always gone hand in hand, especially when it is an adventure tour. The joy of unraveling wild trails of lofty mountains in the Himalayas leaves adventurists vivacious. There are enormous sites with significant history and nature-bound importance in Indian Himalayan states. One of such states is Himachal Pradesh where flocks of avid travelers arrive in abundance every year. When it comes to scaling the wild trajectory, this destination never fails to fulfill the dreams of enthusiasts. In fact, it fosters in them the required motivation and spirit to go beyond their comfort zone and break all the limits.

Kheerganga is one of the most popular treks, partly because of the scenery and perilous edges. Climbing through the charismatic grey-green mountains along with the gurgling Parvati river at the height of 3000 meters gives a heart-throbbing yet elating experience. Also, embracing the densely green hash land and a fresh and indigenous jacuzzi while grabbing a bite of succulent white sauce pasta and sweet corn soup, is full of mesmerizing moments to behold.

Weather plays a major role in what you feel about your individual trekking endeavor in Kheerganga. It is not at all suitable for extreme summers, monsoons, and winters. The transitioning weather from May to June and from September to October encounters moderate temperatures, which is fit for an adventure journey.

The trajectory of 9-10Km from Barshaini can come about in three different ways. Read here more about these three routes that can take you to the final destination; and plan the itinerary accordingly.

Via Nakthan Village

If you are in a hurry, first reach Barshaini and then take a left from the bridge to travel via Nakthan village. It is the easiest and shortest way to reach Kheerganga without being lost in the meadows as it is opted by almost every trekker. The view also blesses the eyes of adventurists who walk along the pristine Parvati river on the left and through the dense forest.

Via Kalga Village

Instead of taking the left turn from the bridge, take a right turn this time and proceed to the famous Kalga village. This route isn’t that known and is heavily dense; thus, not many people choose to go for it. So, when the chances of meeting many people on the way are vague, it is best to take a guide who is familiar with the trail. Though there is nothing much to worry about because the path joins the original route after a few kilometers. Nevertheless, if you are familiar with every twist and turn, go solo on this trek for a soulful solace.

Via Tosh Village

Having a lot of time, you can trek via Tosh village and halt the journey for some rest at the night in the village itself. Just like the route via Kalga village, it also joins the main route near Nakthan village. So, you can begin the journey in the morning and give rest to the tired soul of yours at night at a homestay in the village in exchange for a throw-away cost. Nature enthusiasts also don’t have to worry about missing out on the view of bubbling and gurgling the Parvati river en route, which doesn’t fall too far from the village.

In an all, the ascent begins from rocky and curvy paths, forcing people to cross the bridges made from fallen trees and stones. The roads are flooded with cautions and sadness, so the show goes on with safety precautions. Rest, the rustic charm and scenic vistas lure you to enjoy being closer to nature. In spite of the tricky passages, the charm of Kheerganga trek doesn’t cease to captivate the excitement of the adventurists. To make the most of this trek, you can also get hill station tour packages and explore the popular attractions in the vicinity.
