Heavens on earth are many but few like Kullu and Manali, Settled between the snowy peaks of Himachal Pradesh. Kullu, a valley of gods, lies between the two-hill station of Manali and Largi. Arranged at an elevation of around 6000ft, Kullu was earlier known as Kulanthpitha which meant the ending point of the inhabitable world. The combination of charming streams, pinewood trees, the beautiful Beas river flowing throughout the region making it a perfect place for trekking lovers. To get a pleasure of trekking and enjoy the impressive beauty of the Himalayas, we have put together some of the places of Kullu and Manali.

Solang Valley

Solang Valley Approximately 14 km from Manali. It is also known as the “Snow Point”. Located on the banks of the Beas river. The valley is a quiet and best place to explore. The drive up to the valley is picturesque and gives views to the snow-clad peaks and Glaciers.

It is also famous for hosting winter sports such as skiing, paragliding, and parachuting. An average altitude of 2,560 m above the sea level, the valley is the favorite spot of trekkers. One can go by bus jeep or bus to reach the snow point. The place offers activities like skiing, paragliding, and zorbing known for its summer and winter adventure activities. In summers, when the snowmelt, skiing is replaced by parachuting.

Tibetan Monasteries

Tibetan Monasteries Himalayas are the settlement place of Tibetans in India. The monastery adds charm into the region. It is a wonderful place to witness Buddhist culture, built by Tibetan Refugees and the other followers of Buddhism and it is also open for Non- Buddhist followers. The most famous tourist attractions are the Himalayan Nyingmapa Gompa and Gadhan Thekchhokling Gompa which attracts the travelers.

It is built in Pagoda style and, also, Tibetan literature is kept there. It is also the famous tourist attraction of Manali and, the place is surrounded by some small shops selling beautiful handlooms and handicrafts made by Tibetan people. There are paintings inside the place depicting the main events of Buddha’s life and Kalachakra, known as Wheel of the life cycle and the Buddhists believe rotating the wheel gives salvation.

Rohtang pass

Rohtang pass An entrance to the Lahul and Spiti Valley, it is the most famous destination of the area. Located 50 km away from Manali, in the Eastern Hills of Pir Panjal Range, the high mountains of Rohtang Hills lies at an altitude of 3,978m above the sea level, is a very famous destination for trekking activities. It serves as the gateway to Panji and, Leh valley.

The place is famous for its picturesque valleys and magnificent waterfalls. The journey to the place sometimes becomes challenging so, it is not the place for faint hearted people. The river Beas and Chenab lies to the Northern and Southern side of its location. It remains open from April-October every year. The place very peaceful and cherished by visitors.

Jogni Waterfalls

Jogni Waterfalls Manali is a place of beauty and, it attracts tourist for Manikaran, Jogni waterfalls and, Vashishth Temple Jogni waterfalls commonly called Jugni waterfalls is a must place to visit. It is a combination of beauty, water, and nature altogether. It is an astonishing place located just 3 km away from Manali. The waterfall is not very huge but, situated in a picturesque location in a remote area. It flows from a height of 150 feet.

The route consists of narrow lanes with the beautiful streams that cover the entire area. The beauty of the waterfall makes your mind and, spirit free from the chaos of the city. The trip to the place is full of the essence of nature and the magical view of the snowy peaks, greeny in the lap of nature fills the freshness in your soul.

Vashisht Bath

Vashisht Bath Kullu Manali is famous for its valleys and magnificent hot springs. Vashishth Bath also Known as Vashishth Hot water Springs is at 4-5 km from Manali and situated across the bank of the Beas River. Located in the dense forest of Pine trees is a popular attraction among tourist and pilgrims. The village of Vashishth is famous for its Hot Water spring.

It is a must visit the place to embrace the beauty and heat of the water springs, cradled by the beautiful river. There is Turkish style bathtub available for those who want to enjoy the hot water spring in privacy. Both summers and winters are the best time to visit as the hot water spring serves you well. There are some stone temples also, dedicated to a local saint, Vashishtha.

The Great Himalayan National Park

The Great Himalayan National Park The National Park is the most prominent place to visit in the district of Kullu and Manali. It is situated in the Kulu region and was recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Visitors can enjoy the scenic view of the valley. It is known for its diversity in Flora-Fauna and home to 375 faunal species.

Trekking

Trekking Kullu, and Manali is a paradise for trek lovers and the best-known place for trekking and, other adventurous sports. Beas Kund, Parvati Valley, Kheerganga and Chanderkhani pass are some breathtaking trails in the Himalayan region. There are some famous points of trekking and hiking which take the tourists into the deep Himalayas.

The trek includes higher pass and Mountain slopes, serving the most beautiful destinations to have an experience of a lifetime. The place receives the high amount of rainfall so trekking in these months can be dangerous.

Skiing
